The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's cross country team placed fourth in the 2025 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Cross Country Championship Meet. As a team, the Warhawks tallied 123 total team points, tying with UW-Oshkosh, but held the comparison tiebreaker, 3-2, to take fourth overall.

The Warhawk men were led by Dan Anderson (Eau Claire, Wis./McDonell), who placed fourth overall with a time of 23:54.4. Anderson ran a personal best by over 20 seconds  to achieve his best finish in the Conference Meet as a Warhawk.

Alex Metko (Brillion, Wis./) was the next Warhawk to cross, finishing 26th overall to score 24 points. Metko timed in at 25:01.2, finishing three spots higher than last season.

The last three scorers ran together in a pack, finishing 33rd, 35th, and 36th. Matt Andreano led the pack with a 25:09.0 time, followed by Brandon Massman (Belvidere, Ill./North) at 25:12.3 and Tucker Johnson (Poynette, Wis./) at 25:14.7. Andreano and Massman both  surpassed their  personal bests, with Andreano running  over 45 seconds faster than his previous mark.

Jonah Block (Whitefish Bay, Wis./) was the sixth Warhawk to cross, setting his own personal best with a 25:19.9 finish to place 40th overall.

• Kody Wassman (Ormsby, Minn./Mountain Lake) - 25:49.4 PR (65th)
• Conner Murphy - 26:04.1 (73rd)
• Ryan Van Dam (Glen Ellen, Ill./Glenbard East) - 26:13.0 (75th)
• Nick Wendl (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) - 27:03.6 (91st)

Brandon Massman (Belvidere, Ill./North) was also named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship team.

The Warhawks will prepare for the North Regional match, set for November 15th in Colfax, Wisconsin. The men's race begins at 12 PM with the women to follow.
