The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's bowling team opened the 2024-25 campaign at the Midwest Collegiate Bowling Championships over the weekend.
The Warhawks cruised through qualifying to claim the sixth-seed in the 42-team field heading into bracket play.
Individually,
Kelly Whipple (Sheboygan, Wis./South) paced UWW with a five-game total of 994 to finish 23rd in a field of over 250 bowlers. She averaged 198.8 for the tournament.
Zoey Darwin (Monona, Wis./Monona Grove) and
Dani Swaisgood (Burbank, Calif./John Burroughs) added two more top 30 finishes for the Warhawks. Darwin was 26th with a total pinfall of 988 with Swaisgood just one pin back for 27th.
Kayla Devine () finished just outside the top 50 with a total of 941.
Over the five traditional team games Saturday, the Warhawk total was 4,777. Sunday's competition opened with for sets of four Baker games bringing UW-Whitewater overall total pinfall to 7,776 and into sixth in the team standings.
In the best-of-three Baker series to kick off bracket play, UWW fell to Coe College 165-200, 190-161, 160-186.
