The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's swim teams competed at the highly competitive Wisconsin Showcase on Saturday afternoon.
Women's Top 10 Results
The women were highlighted by
Jenna Denton (O'Fallon, Wis./), who had three top-10 finishes. Denton finished 10th in the 50 free and 100 free with a time of 25.51 and 55.23, respectively. Denton also finish 8th in the 100 back with a time of 1:01.39
Paige Malitz (Wausau, Wis./DC Everest) completed the 200 fly with a time of 2:31.22.
Hannah Gault (Moline, Ill./) was less than a second behind her, finishing 10th with a time of 2:32.18.
Hannah Wenszell (West Bend, Wis./Wisconsin Virtual) and
Gala Boutin (San Antonio, Tex./Smithson Valley) represented the Warhawks in the 400 IM in 9th and 10th place respectively. Wenszell swam a 5:03.13 with Boutin following it up with a 5:06.17.
The two relay teams on the women's side finished 5th in both the 200 relay and 200 medley relay.Â
The freestyle relay timed in with a 1:42.70 with
Emily Connell (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower),
Grace Linstroth (Port Washington, Wis./),
Addi Sanow (Munster, Ind./), and
Bella Borta (Wonder Lake, Ill./Woodstock). The medley team of
Izzy Doczy (Greendale, Wis./),
Gianna Gnewuch (Verona, Wis./), Denton, and Linstroth timed in at 2:03.00.
Men's Top 10 Results
Jason Halvert (Whitewater, Wis.) earned the top finishes of any UW-Whitewater swimmer, placing 2nd in the 100 back with a time of 52.01. Halvert also placed 3rd in the 100 fly with a time of 51.46.
Dom Schlueter (South Elgin, Ill./) topped the 50 free for the Warhawks, finishing 5th with a time of 21.72. Schlueter also placed 9th in the 200 IM, with a time of 2:05.04.
Daniel Keller (Omaha, Neb./Papillion-LaVista) joined Schlueter in the 200 IM with an 8th place finish at 2:04.88.
Keller also topped the 400 IM with a time of 4:28.00 for 10th place.
Rounding out the Warhawks top-10 finishes was
Noah Johnson (DeKalb, Ill./) with a time of 2:17.02 in the 200 breast for 10th place.
The Warhawk men's relay teams placed in the top 5 of both the 200 free and 200 medley relays. The 200 free team finished with a time of 1:26.74 for 4th place. In the 200 medley, the Warhawks finished with a 1:35.38 for 3rd place.

The Warhawk swim/dive teams begin their WIAC season with a home dual meet against UW-Oshkosh. The meet is set for November 8th at 5 PM.
