Warhawk Swim & Dive Competes in Last Dual of 2026 Season

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's swim & dive teams competed against UW-Eau Claire in their final WIAC dual of the season. 

The Warhawks were highlighted by Olivia Santiago (Auburn, Cal./Placer) with a first-place finish in the women's 3-meter diving event with a score of 224.85 and a third place finish in the 1-meter dive at 216.30. Ethan Schmohe (Sullivan, Ill./Sullivan) delivered a strong performance on the men's side, securing second place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.10.

Schmohe also had a second-place finish in the 100 butterfly, timing in at 54.65 to take the second overall spot. Owen Phillips (Ottawa, Ill./Ottawa Township) was runner-up in the 200 freestyle, touching with a 1:51.73.

Phillips was also the second swimmer of the 200 freestyle relay on the men's side. He joined with Schmohe, Dom Schlueter (South Elgin, Ill./South Elgin), and Ethan Bergman (Kenosha, Wis./Bradford) to take second overall with a 1:28.28 time. 

Caleb Weis (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) placed second overall in the 1000 freestyle, timing in at 10:06.14.

Hailey Vogel (Rockwell City, Iowa/Fort Dodge) finished second in the women's 100-yard breaststroke in 1:09.73 and contributed to a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, clocking 1:53.41. Vogel was joined by Izzy Doczy (Greendale, Wis./Greendale), Jenna Denton (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon), and Grace Linstroth (Port Washington, Wis./Port Washington) on the runner-up squad. Denton also placed 2nd in her individual 100 free with a time of 56-flat. 

On the men's side of the 100 breast, Dom Schlueter (South Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) placed third overall with a time of 1:03.50. 

For the 200 butterfly, Noah Johnson (DeKalb, Ill./DeKalb) placed second overall with a 2:07.20. 

In the fastest swim of the day, Grace Linstroth (Port Washington, Wis./Port Washington) placed second overall for the Warhawks in the 50 free. Linstroth timed in at 26.12, just a tenth of a second of from the top finisher from UWEC.

The Warhawks will compete next at the WIAC Championship held at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer, Wis. The championship meet is scheduled to take place from Wednesday, February 18th to Saturday, February 21st. 

UW-Whitewater Top Results Summary
Relays
- 200 Yard Medley Relay — UW-Whitewater A placed second with a time of 1:53.41; UW-Whitewater B finished sixth in 2:03.59.
- 200 Yard Freestyle Relay — UWW A claimed third with a time of 1:43.99.

Individual Swimming
- 1000 Yard Freestyle — Caleb Weis (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) took second in 10:16.53; Daniel Madson (Kiel, Wis./Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah) finished fourth with 10:27.67.
- 100 Yard Breaststroke — Hailey Vogel (Rockwell City, Iowa/Fort Dodge) placed second in 1:09.73; Amelia Davey (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) was fifth in 1:18.70.
- 50 Yard Freestyle — Grace Linstroth (Port Washington, Wis./Port Washington) finished second in 26.12; Hailey Vogel (Rockwell City, Iowa/Fort Dodge) took fifth in 26.54.

Diving
- 1 Meter Diving — Olivia Santiago (Auburn, Cal./Placer) secured third; Brookelyn Klepfer (Lake in the Hills, Ill./Huntley) followed in fourth with 183.40.
- 3 Meter Diving — Drew Schmitz (Appleton, Wis./North) placed third, scoring 203.70.
