The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's golf team won the St. Olaf-Carleton Spring Invite Saturday. The originally scheduled two-day tournament was shortened to Saturday only due to inclement weather sweeping the area.
The Warhawks posted a total of 314 to top second-place Carleton by 10 strokes. Ellie Johnson was the overall individual leader shooting -1 with a 71. That mark ties the program low for 18 holes.
Ashton Sinak (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) came in fifth after carding a 78 Saturday.
Kallie Lux (Janesville, Wis./Craig) tied for 11th registering an 82.
Lily Sheppard (Sherwood, Wis./Kaukauna) added an 83 to tie for 16th. Madison LaPaz rounded out the group with a 90.
Haley Myers (Somerset, Wis./Somerset) competed as an individual carding an 82 to tie for 11th.
The spring invite was the team's final competition before heading to Florida for the NCAA Division III Championships. The national championship will be contended May 9-12 at Mission Inn Resort in Howie-In-The-Hills.
