The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Men's and Women's Swim and Dive team competed in the Wisconsin Invite, with UW-Milwaukee, UW-Green Bay, UW-Oshkosh, UW-La Crosse, Carthage, and St. Norbert. With over 50 swimmers competing in almost every event, the Warhawks competed with some of the top schools and swimmers in the state of Wisconsin.
**For the Women**
In the 100 yard free,
Emily Connell (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) posted a 56.50 for 12th place out of 67 swimmers. Later on in the event, Connell touched 22nd in the 200 yard free out of 55 swimmers.Â
Izzy Doczy (Greendale, Wis./Greendale) touched in 2:20.96 in the 200 yard backstroke, finishing 17th overall in the event.
In the 200 yard fly,
Lauryn Moneta (Sugar Grove, Ill./Kaneland) touched in 2:40.20 tying for ninth place with a Green Bay swimmer who recorded the exact same time.Â
Hannah Wenszell (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Virtual) also earned a top 10 finish, placing 6th in the 400 yard IM with a time of 5:00.13, only placing behind swimmers from UW-Milwaukee and UW-Green Bay.Â
In the 200 yard breast, the Warhawks had three Top 20 finishers.
Grace Jasken (Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee) with a time of 2:47.76,
Logan Cunningham (Sun Prairie, Wis./East) with a time of 2:49.15, and
Natalie Miska (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village) with a time of 2:56.44 for the 14th, 17th, and 20th best times overall.Â
Other top 20 times include
Logan Cunningham (Sun Prairie, Wis./East) in the 500 yard free with a time of 6:03.19.
Paige Malitz (Wausau, Wis./DC Everest) in the 200 yard fly with a time of 3:20.87.
Hannah Gault (Moline, Ill./Senior) in the 400 yard IM with a time of 5:15.58.
**For the Men**
In the 50 yard free, the Warhawks had three swimmers in the top 15.
Dom Schlueter (South Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) tied for 7th with a time of 21.86.
Ethan Bergman (Racine, Wis./Bradford) touched 11th with a time of 22.00, and
Ethan Schmohe (Sullivan, Ill./Sullivan) finished 13th with a time of 22.25.Â
Schmohe would also place in the top 10 for the 200 yard back, with a time of 2:03.21 for 8th place and 19th place in the 100 fly with a time of 55.58. Bergman placed 6th in the 100 fly, with a time of 53.55.
For the 100 Yard free, Donny Grammer placed 15th out of 65 swimmers with a time of 49.90.
Hunter Hayberger (Sandusky, Ohio/Sandusky) earned a 6th place finish in the 200 yard free with a time of 1:49.45. Later on, Hayberger clocked in a 4:58.98 in the 500 yard free, placing fifth overall only getting beat by swimmers from UW-Milwaukee.
Caleb Weis (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) also placed in the Top 10 for the 500 free with a time of 5:10.96 for ninth overall.Â
In the 400 IM,
Daniel Keller (Omaha, Neb./Papillion-LaVista) placed 6th overall, with a time of 4:24.98. Keller was joined by
Isaac Schroeder (Waukesha, Wis./) in the top 10 for the event. Schroeder timed in at 4:34.99 for 10th overall.Â
For the 200 yard fly,
Matt Sipin (Round Lake, Ill./Grayslake Central) and
Jalen Stimes (Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah) both picked up times in the top 15. Sipin with a time of 2:07.51 for 8th, and Stimes with 2:15.70 for 11th.Â
Other Top 20 times for the men include:
Dan Emary (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) in the 500 yard free with a time of 5;41.15.
Jalen Stimes (Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah) in the 200 yard back with a time of 2:15.02.Matt Ozog in the 100 yard fly with a time of 55.20 and Schlueter with a time of 55.60.
Noah Johnson (DeKalb, Ill./DeKalb) in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:09.83
The Swim Team will return to action November 4th for their first WIAC dual of the year against UW-Oshkosh in Oshkosh.Â
