WIAC Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater student-athletes Bethany Marshall (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove), Kasey Schlicht (Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee), Kellie Ha (Palatine, Ill./Fremd), and Kirsten Anderson (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) have been named Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week by the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for the week of August 29-September 4, 2022.
 
WOMEN'S TENNIS

Singles

Bethany Marshall (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove), Senior 

Marshall won every match she competed in for the Warhawks during the week. She opened the season with a pair of wins in a team 8-1 victory over UW-Eau Claire on Sept. 2. Marshall registered a No. 5 singles win (6-3, 6-7 (3-7), 10-6) over Morgan Dekan and partnered with teammate Courtney Day (Oshkosh, Wis./North) to take No. 3 doubles 8-7 (7-4). On Sept. 3, Marshall clinched the team title at the Warhawk Invite with an 8-5 win over Utsah Kaira of Grinnell College (Iowa) in the championship match at No. 2 singles. She added a 6-4, 7-6 (3) win over UW-Oshkosh's Codelia Damkot and defeated Grinnell's Anika Sheth in the semifinal 6-7 (5), 7-5, 15-13 to advance to the finals. For the week, Marshall was a perfect 5-0, including four singles victories.

Doubles

Kasey Schlicht (Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee), Junior & Kellie Ha (Palatine, Ill./Fremd), Junior 

Schlicht and Ha captured the title at No. 2 doubles in the Warhawk Invite on Sept. 3. The pair cruised to back-to-back 8-1 victories over UW-Oshkosh's Jenna Nolde and Courtney Carpenter, and UW-Eau Claire's Morgan Dekan and Sydney Presler. In the championship, the twosome took down Erin Jarvis and Lily Perrin of Grinnell College (Iowa) 8-4 to help the Warhawks to the team title.

Offense

Kirsten Anderson (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie), Junior, Middle Hitter 

Anderson led No. 16-ranked UW-Whitewater to a 4-0 start to the 2022 campaign, including a win over No. 12-ranked Wartburg College (Iowa) at the UW-Whitewater Wisconsin Blast held Sept. 2-3. Anderson was a force offensively and defensively at the net. She opened the tournament with a five kill, seven block performance against Loras College (Iowa). Anderson hit .500 - hammering down 12 kills in 18 attempts, while adding four assist blocks against Wartburg. Against Simpson College (Iowa) on Sept. 3, Anderson hit .545 with seven kills - adding a solo and three assist blocks. In four matches, Anderson hit .429 with 24 kills in 42 attempts, while committing just six errors. She added two solo and 13 block assists, six digs and a pair of aces. Anderson averaged 2.40 kills and 1.50 blocks in 10 sets played.
