Getting To Know The Warhawks – Hope Mylin, Women’s Track and Field

Hope Mylin (Algonquin, Ill./Harvest Christian Academy) of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's track and field team is featured in the latest edition of Getting To Know The Warhawks Presented by UW Credit Union.
 
Mylin posted her career record time in the 100-meter hurdles in her final meet. Her time of 16.43 seconds at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships was good for 13th place in the event. She also earned a spot on the WIAC Larry Zirgibel All-Sportsmanship Team at the event. Mylin also saved her best performance for the conference meet during the indoor season, running a 9.96 in the 60-meter hurdles, good for 16th place.
 
A 2022 captain, Mylin earned the team's True Warhawk Award following the season.
 
During the shortened 2021 season, Mylin posted a season-best 10.04 in the 60-meter hurdles at the final indoor meet of the season, placing second among competitors. She finished 21st in the WIAC with a time of 16.87 at the conference outdoor meet.
 
In 2020, her first year with the program, Mylin ran a career-best 8.88 in the 60-meter dash and finished 18th in the 60-meter hurdles at the WIAC Indoor Championships.
 
A two-year member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll, Mylin graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in mathematics. She is a 2021-22 UW-Whitewater Chancellor's Scholar-Athlete and a six-time member of the Dean's List.
 
Mylin earned a multitude of academic scholarships during her tenure, including the Chancellors Scholars (three times), the Chuck and Martha Heinrich Scholarship, the Metcalf Family Endowment and the William C. Beck Scholarship.
