Women's 4x100 Breaks Program Record for Third Time

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's track team competed in front of the home crowd for the final time this season at the Drake Alternative Thursday. 

The highlight of the meet for the women was another school record smashed by the Women's 4x100 team. The squad of Danielle Pouska (Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs), Kelly Huera, Cici Stennett (Barrington, Ill./), and Dakota Mitchell (Sun Prairie, Wis./West) timed in at 45.92 for another school record & the second best time in NCAA DIII this season.

Mitchell & Pouska were also a part of the Warhawk sweep in the 200m Dash. Mitchell took gold with a 24.72, ranking the 7th best in school history. Pouska took silver with a 25.16. Angela Dale (Milwaukee, Wis./Nicolet) rounded out the top three for bronze with a 25.36. 

Lena Becker (Toulon, Ill./Stark County) topped DIII athletes in the 100m Hurdles, finishing second overall int he event. Becker's time of 14.87 ranks 4th in school history. 

The Warhawks had a successful day in the mid-distance events as well. With multiple top finishes in the 400m & 800m. For the 400m, Paige Fassbender (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) and Gillian Thompson (Cambridge, Wis./) both podiumed. Fassbender timed in at under 60 seconds, for a second place finish at 58.83. Thompson finished 6th overall with a 1:02.63. In the 800m, Emma Henningfeld (East Troy, Wis./East Troy) placed 5th overall with a 2:21.34. 

In the 1500, Ella Hansen (Pewaukee, Wis./UW-Parkside), Brinley Everson (Waunakee, Wis./Marquette), & Renee Forystek (Waukesha, Wis./North) all placed in the top 8 overall. Hansen placed third with a 4:54.08, with Everson & Forystek at 6th and 7th.

Over in the throws, the Czarnecki's topped multiple events. In the Discus, Ryleigh Czarencki placed second overall with a 43.12m throw. Kenni Czarnecki (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) placed right behind her at fourth with a 42.63m throw. Kenni Czarnecki (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) also placed first in the Hammer Throw, with a 53.15m toss, and was fifth in the Shot Put with a mark of 12.91m. 

For the field events, Gracie Holland (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) cemented herself at the top of Rex Foster track once again. Holland finished first overall in the pole vault, passing the 3.91m bar. Ella Maher (Rockford, Ill./Winnebago) and Carleen Snow (Rio, Wis./DeForest) rounded out the top eight of the Pole Vault with a 3.16m & 3.01m, respectively.
