Volleyball Earns Highest Team Honor for Academic Performance

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team has earned the United States Marine Corps/American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the 2021-22 year.
 
In addition, the Warhawks were named to the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award Honor Roll for maintaining a team grade point average among the top 20 percent of teams in NCAA Division III. The team's GPA was 3.652 on a 4.0 scale.
 
UW-Whitewater was one of 1,275 teams in all divisions of college volleyball, including a record 233 at the Division III level, to receive the award. To be honored, teams must maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
 
In 2021, the Warhawks posted a 27-3 record and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament in the program's 28th appearance over the last 29 seasons.
 
UW-Whitewater scheduled to begin the 2022 campaign Sept. 2 at Russell Arena against Loras (Iowa) on the first day of the Wisconsin Blast Tournament.
