Caitlin Mertins (Racine, Wis./Park) of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team concluded her career Monday at the United States Bowling Congress-sanctioned Intercollegiate Singles Championships (ISC) in Addison, Ill.
 
Mertins tallied a score of 1,178 in six qualifying games to place 15th out of 24 players. She was defeated by Vanderbilt's Amanda Naujokas in the first round of single-elimination bracket competition.
 
Mertins is the National Tenpin Coaches Association Division III Player of the Year for the 2021-22 season. She earned her spot in the ISC field after winning the ISC Addison (Ill.) Sectional in March.
