The No. 18 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team claimed two more victories Saturday on the second day of the Music City Classic at Smyrna Bowling Center in Smyrna, Tenn.
The Warhawks, who defeated No. 17 Maryland Eastern Shore and No. 21 Lewis, moved up four spots to 20th in the team standings with a cumulative score of 9,277, good for a 185.5 average per game.
Caitlin Mertins (Racine, Wis./Park) led UW-W in Saturday's traditional games with a score of 1,114 (222.80 avg.), good for 11th place out of 200 bowlers. She tallied team high games of 259 and 242 on the day.
Kelsey Jaeger (New London, Wis./Little Wolf) finished 66th overall with a 960 in five games, good for a 192 average.
Kelly Whipple (Sheboygan, Wis./South) and
Olivia Zinanni (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) placed 77th and 85th, respectively. Whipple recorded a 941 for a 188.20 average, while Zinanni collected a 916 for a 183.50 average.
Rachel Nelson (Poplar Grove, Ill./Belvidere North) bowled four games and finished with a 772, good for an average of 193 and 127th place.
Rebecca Howard (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Buffalo Grove) rolled a game of 134 to finish 199th.
Sunday's best-of-seven Baker bracket play begins at 8:30 a.m. UW-Whitewater is seeded 20th and will face No. 19 seed Drury to start the day.
