No. 22 Bowling Enjoys Strong Opening Day at Arkansas State

The No. 22 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team posted a record-setting performance Friday on its way to finishing the day second in the team standings of the Mid-Winter Classic at Hijinx in Jonesboro, Ark.
 
The Warhawks tallied a Baker game of 1,181, good for the second-highest score in program history and just three pins shy of a school record, in a victory against Drury. Rebecca Howard (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Buffalo Grove), Sam Knab (Antioch, Ill./Antioch), Caitlin Mertins (Racine, Wis./Park), Kelly Whipple (Sheboygan, Wis./South) and Kelsey Jaeger (New London, Wis./Little Wolf) were part of the performance. UW-W added wins against Alabama A&M, No. 20 Lewis and Alabama State to finish the day with a 4-1 record.
 
UW-Whitewater finished with a cumulative score of 5,409 for the day, an average of 216.4 per Baker game.
 
Play continues Saturday with traditional games.
