The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater cross country program hosted the final meet of the season before the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Championships Friday afternoon. The UWW men won the Warhawk Open while the women were represented but did not have enough competing to record a team score.
Christian Seagren (Dixon, Ill./Dixon) was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 27:42.6 followed by teammate
Tommy Conklin (West Bend, Wis./East) just two seconds back. In fourth,
Rhett Reuter (Darlington, Wis./Darlington) posted a time of 27:49.9. Aiden Johnson and
Brandon Gang (Waukesha, Wis./West) came in seventh and eighth with clockings of 28:23.7 and 28:24.8 respectively.
Colin Lewandowski (Elmhurst, Ill./York) (28?32.3),
Brandon Massman (Belvidere, Ill./North) (28:45.6),
Drew Davey (Elkhorn, Wis./Elkhorn) (30:02.7), and
Prue Thomas (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) (30:14.1) also represented UWW.
Mollie Bennett (Cambridge, Ill./Cambridge) led the Warhawk women with a time of 28:41.9 for a top 20 finish.
Emma Shingledecker (New Berlin, Wis./West) (29:42.5),
Kayleigh Thomas (Dixon, Ill./Dixon) (31:46.2) and
Samantha Pieper (Marinette, Wis./Marinette) (32:08.5) also competed for UW-Whitewater.
