The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater cross country program competed at the Pre-National Meet hosted by Olivet College in Michigan Saturday morning. The eighth-ranked Warhawk men finished fourth while the women were 17
th, each competing in a field of 36 teams.

In a field of 329 runners including competitors from eight teams ranked in the top 25 nationally,
Christian Patzka (Black Earth, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) led UW-W with a runner-up finish crossing the line in 24:21.6.
Gunner Schlender (Brillion, Wis./Brillion) added a top ten finish posting a time of 24:43.0 for seventh.
Justin Krause (Ixonia, Wis./Pewaukee) registered a top 20 time of 25:01.2 (17
th) while
Nick Hardin (Greenfield, Wis./Whitnall),
Dan Anderson (Eau Claire, Wis./McDonell),
Chris Allen (Downers Grove, Ill./North), and
Will MacCudden (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) all finished among the top 105 runners.

Paige Fassbender (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) and
Ari De La Cerda (Milwaukee, Wis./Pewaukee) led the Warhawk women finishing back-to-back in 52
nd and 53
rd respectively. The pair recorded times of 23:17.8 and 23:18.2. Payton Scoggin added a top 100 finish in the field of 316 runners with a time of 23:54.2. Also adding points to the team total were
Katie Erb (Winnebago, Ill./Winnebago),
Carleen Snow (Rio, Wis./DeForest),
Annika Burchell (DeKalb, Ill./DeKalb), and
Roxanne Temple (Ingleside, Ill./Grant Community).

In addition to the varsity meet, there was also an open competition.
Rhett Reuter (Darlington, Wis./Darlington) led the Warhawks competing in the open finished 15
th while
Kristan Larson (Rio, Wis./Rio) was 28
th for the women.
