The No. 20 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team topped No. 25 Monmouth Friday on the first day of the three-day Northeast Classic at Bowlero in Deptford, N.J.
 
The Warhawks tallied a 1-4 record against a highly competitive field in five Baker matches and are 17th in the standings. All four of UW-W's losses came against opponents ranked among the top 20 in the nation by the National Tenpin Coaches Association.
 
UW-Whitewater owns a score of 4,619 for an average of 184.8 per game.
