Women’s Tennis 2021-22 Schedule Announced

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team has revealed its 2021-22 schedule.
 
The Warhawks start the new campaign Sept. 1 with non-conference matches against Edgewood and Illinois Tech at Wangerin Courts. The team opens Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Sept. 3 at home against UW-Oshkosh.
 
UW-Whitewater hosts the annual Warhawk Invitational Sept. 4 in Whitewater. Participants include Augustana (Ill.), Carthage, Grinnell (Iowa), Illinois Wesleyan, UW-La Crosse, UW-Oshkosh and UW-Eau Claire.
 
The Warhawks continue league play Sept. 12 against UW-River Falls before taking on Lake Forest (Ill.) later in the day.
 
UW-W plays its first matches on the road Sept. 17-18 with back-to-back duals against UW-Eau Claire and UW-La Crosse. The team heads to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional Sept. 24-27 to close the month.
 
UW-Whitewater visits UW-Stevens Point Oct. 5 before hosting the two-day Warhawk Fall Invitational Oct. 8-9. The annual tournament includes Cardinal Stritch, Carleton (Minn.), Olivet Nazarene, Roosevelt and Valparaiso.
 
Singles and doubles champions of the ITA Midwest Regional will visit Rome, Ga., Oct. 14-17 for the ITA Oracle Cup. The team will also host UW-Stout Oct. 16 as well as another opponent to be determined.
 
The WIAC Championship is set for Oct. 23-24 at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison.
 
The Warhawks' spring schedule has also been released, and includes the team's annual spring break trip March 17-26, the annual Midwest Invitational on April 1-2 in Madison, and the WIAC Team Tournament April 30 at the home venue of the conference champion determined in October.
 
The NCAA Tournament begins with regionals May 13-15 and concludes with the NCAA Championship from May 23-29 in Orlando, Fla.
 
UW-Whitewater enters the 2021-22 season as the 14-time defending WIAC champion. The Warhawks reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament and extended their dual win streak over conference opponents to 110 during the 2021 spring season.
