The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team defeated Maryville 4-1 in best-of-seven Baker bracket play Thursday at the United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Championships in Wyoming, Mich.
 
After qualifying sixth for bracket play with a total score of 2,322 over 12 Baker games, the Warhawks opened bracket play against No. 11 seed Maryville and advances to the second round of match play, where they'll face fourth-seeded Monmouth.
 
Second round action begins Friday at 9 a.m. Central Time. Rounds 3-6 are scheduled to take place between 12-8 p.m.
