No. 23 Bowling Knocks Off Top-Ranked Foe at Mid-Winter Classic

The No. 23 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team is in sixth place following the first day of competition Friday at Arkansas State's Mid-Winter Classic at Hijinx Family Entertainment Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
 
The Warhawks downed No. 1 McKendree to start the day and accumulated 5,028 pins over five Baker match sets, good for an average of 201.1 pins per game.
 
UW-Whitewater was defeated by No. 16 Stephen F. Austin and No. 5 Nebraska, and was edged by 12 pins to close the day against Drury.
 
Saturday's traditional games begin at 9:25 a.m.
