The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's cross country team placed fourth Friday in the Warhawk Open, the final meet of the regular season, at the UW-W Cross Country Course.
Seven Warhawks competed at the meet, combining for a team score of 72 with a pair of top-10 finishes.
Nick Schmidt (Sussex, Wis./Hamilton) led UW-Whitewater, placing fifth out of 48 runners with a time of 27:20.2 in the 8-kilometer race.
Nick Hardin (Greenfield, Wis./Whitnall) finished ninth with a 27:30.7.
Will MacCudden (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) crossed the finish line in 27:57.5, good for 14th place, while
Prue Thomas (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) collected a time of 28:05.6, good for 18th overall.
Alex Hall (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union) placed 33rd with a time of 29:05.0,
Aiden Johnson (Dixon, Ill./Dixon) posted a 29:34.0 to finish 36th, and
Landen Bratt (Waukesha, Wis./West) rounded out UW-W performers with a 30:09.5, good for 41st place.
The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship is slated for Saturday, Oct. 30, at Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax, Wis. The men's 8K begins at 12 p.m., followed by the women's 6K at 1 p.m.
