The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's track and field teams competed Saturday at the Pointer Final Qualifier in the final meet prior to Sunday's announcement of the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship qualifiers.
Freshman
Andrew Lohse (Dixon, Ill./Dixon) finished as runner-up in the men's 800-meter run with a 1:58.18, and freshman
Justin Krause (Ixonia, Wis./Pewaukee) was just behind in third place at 1:58.63.
Sophomore
Landon Keefover (Antioch, Ill./Antioch) placed second in the 60-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in 8.37 seconds.
On the women's side, freshman
Sarah Niehueser (Fond du Lac, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran Academy) placed third in the 800-meter run in 2:20.59, and junior
Jessie Braun (Wales, Wis./Kettle Moraine) was third in the 1-mile run with a 5:20.78.
Other top-three finishers included junior
Kennedy Hauser (Green Bay, Wis./Ashwaubenon) in the 3,000-meter run (12:43.46), sophomore
Sydney Rossow (West Bend, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) in the 60-meter hurdles (9.37 / 9.24 in prelim), and freshman
Miranda Reynolds (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater), who tied for third in the high jump with a height of 5-00.50 (1.54 meters).
The NCAA Indoor Championships are scheduled for next Friday-Saturday, March 13-14, in Greensboro, N.C. Qualifiers will be announced Sunday via press release on
NCAA.com.
