The No. 15 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team is seventh out of 19 teams after the first day at the Mid-Winter Classic at Hijinx Family Entertainment Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
 
The Warhawks put down 4,774 pins in five Baker series, good for 191.0 pins per game, and recorded the fourth-highest Baker game in program history with a 277 against No. 3 Nebraska.
 
UW-Whitewater finished with a 2-3 record for the day, defeating Drury and No. 16 Tulane and dropping matches against Nebraska, No. 2 Sam Houston State and Jackson State.
 
Competition continues Saturday with traditional games.
