Thirteen members of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's track and field programs were acknowledged by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association in the organization's 2019 NCAA Division III All-Academic Honors.
In addition, the two teams were recognized as an All-Academic Teams. The women posted a 3.30 cumulative grade point average through the 2019 spring semester, while the men finished with a 3.14.
Juniors
Abbie Felton (Burlington, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran),
Alissa Korslin (Vesper, Wis./Pittsville), sophomores
Sydney Davidson (Elburn, Ill./Kaneland),
Shelby Nickels (Manitowoc, Wis./Lincoln) and freshman
Kylie Jacobs (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) were each selected as All-Academic individuals on the women's side. Felton and Nickels garnered their second straight All-Academic accolades.
Senior
Tanner Stephens (Nekoosa, Wis./Nekoosa), juniors
Jake Schneider (Plymouth, Wis./Plymouth),
Landon Zimmerman (New Glarus, Wis./New Glarus), sophomores
David Fassbender (Slinger, Wis./Slinger),
Quinn Halversen (Rockford, Ill./Christian),
Lucas Skaaland (Westby, Wis./Westby), freshmen
Victor Rinaldi (Medford, Wis./Medford) and
Josiah Vogel (Rockford, Ill./Rockford Christian) represented the men as All-Academic individuals. Stephens concludes his career as a two-time honoree, and Schneider is a three-time selection. Zimmerman is now a two-time member of the list.
To qualify for All-Academic accolades, student-athletes must have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and must have either competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship or finished the regular season ranked in the national top 50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 35 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
To qualify for All-Academic Team status, teams must have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.1.
A total of 631 women were selected All-Academic. On the men's side, 462 student-athletes made the list.
