Two members of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater track and field programs garnered first team Google Cloud Track and Field/Cross Country Academic All-District® 6 honors as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
 
Abbie Felton (Burlington, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) was one of 15 honorees on the women's side for District 6, which covers Division III institutions in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. She is majoring in chemistry and compiled a 3.42 grade point average on a 4.0 scale through the fall 2018 semester.
 
Landon Zimmerman (New Glarus, Wis./New Glarus) was one of 12 selections for the men. He owns a 3.99 cumulative GPA through the fall 2018 semester and is majoring in accounting.
 
Felton and Zimmerman will each be eligible to be named Academic All-America®, which is released in June.
 
Felton recently posted the seventh All-America honor of her career, finishing seventh in the 400-meter dash at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships in Geneva, Ohio. She leaves the program as the program's record holder in three relay events – the 4x100-meter relay, the indoor 4x400-meter relay and the outdoor 4x400-meter relay.
 
Felton is a three-time Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion, an 11-time All-WIAC finisher and a five-time USTFCCCA All-Midwest Region honoree.
 
Zimmerman, a 2019 men's team captain, is a four-time top eight conference placer. He finished fourth in the outdoor shot put in 2019 and qualified for the event at the NCAA Championships, placing 17th overall.
 
Zimmerman holds a career-best toss of 52-09.50 (16.09) in the shot put, posting his personal record mark at the UW-Platteville Invitational in April.
