The No. 13 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team defeated four top 10 teams Friday on the first day of Stephen F. Austin's Stormin' LadyJack Invitational at Texas Pro Bowl in Dallas.
The Warhawks bested No. 3 Nebraska, No. 7 Stephen F. Austin, No. 9 Tulane and No. 2 Vanderbilt in consecutive five-game Baker matches before closing the day with a 25-pin setback against 24th-ranked Adelphi.
UW-Whitewater is eighth overall after the first day with a cumulative total of 4,640 pins, good for an average of 185.6 per game. Fewer than 100 pins separate the Warhawks from third place in the tournament standings.
Competition resumes Saturday at 9:25 a.m. with five traditional team matches scheduled.
