The No. 10 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team recovered from a slow start Friday to record four wins in five Baker sets on the first day of the Warhawk Classic at Bowl-A-Vard Lanes in Madison.
 
The Warhawks are sixth out of 12 teams after posting a pinfall of 4,433, good for an average of 177.3 pins per game.
 
UW-Whitewater was defeated by Valparaiso to start the day, but recovered with victories over Aurora, Tusculum, No. 13 Lincoln Memorial and Marian.
 
Traditional games begin at 9:45 a.m. Saturday.
