The men's and women's swimming and diving teams were each topped by UW-Stevens Point on Saturday afternoon.

The men were defeated 218.5-74.5 while the women were edged 167-137.

This meet comes just one week after the teams tapered for the SIU Invitational. Head coach Elise Knoche had this to say after today's competition, "After a great midseason meet last weekend, we were back in the pool working hard this week. I loved the energy our teams brought to the pool deck today, and the way we got behind each other throughout the entire meet. Our divers had great performances on the boards, and it was great to see our swimmers battle in all of the close races we had today. Meets like these help set us up both physically and mentally for our peak performances at the end of our season."

Sophomore Tristan Whiting (Hayden, Idaho/Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy) and junior Zach Noll (Peoria, Ill./Dunlap) led the men as the only two Warhawks to finish first in an event. Noll won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 4:59.32 while Whiting topped the field in the 1000-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 10:25.59. Whiting finished as the runner-up to Noll in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in 5:01.65. Noll placed second in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 1:59.53.

Senior Chase Searcy (Lincoln, Neb./Southeast) finished just behind Whiting in the 1000-yard freestyle, completing the event in 10:27.57. He also finished second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:03.41.

Junior Tyler Chatterton (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper) placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 59.76 and the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:18.29. Senior Cody Heckendorf (Geneva, Ill./Geneva) wrapped up the group of second place finishers, completing the 200-yard breaststroke in a 2:16.87.

Leading the women with first place finishes were freshmen Savanna Bitz, Leanne Stigler (Beloit, Wis./Muskego) and Mady Gomez and seniors Meredith Gustafson (Brookfield, Wis./East) and Renata Schlomann (New Berlin, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels). Bitz won the 200-yard freestyle with a 2:01.58. Stigler finished the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:11.48. Rounding out the freshman was Gomez with a 2:16.93 in the 200-yard backstroke.

Gustafson's 2:17.09 was good for first in the 200-yard butterfly. Schlomann claimed both sprint freestyle events, finishing the 50-yard freestyle in 25.15 and the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 55.62.
