Day 1 Final Results
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's swimming and diving teams started competition Thursday at the three-day Saluki Invite in Carbondale, Ill.

There were a total of six individuals that finished in the top eight from both teams.

On the women's side, three swimmers represented the Warhawks in the 500-yard freestyle A finals.Â
Meredith Gustafson (Brookfield, Wis./East),Â
Olivia Theobald (Peoria, Ill./Dunlap) and
Shayna Putney (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) went 5-6-7 in the event, clocking in under the 5:20 mark. Gustafson finished in 5:16.00, Theobald in 5:17.47 and Putney touched the wall at 5:19.12.

Renata Schlomann (New Berlin, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels) finished third in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 24.30. Schlomann and Theobald joined
Savana Bitz (Grey Eagle, Minn./Melrose Area) and
Bailey Weston (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) to a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a 1:39.65 time.

On the men's side,
Tyler Chatterton (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper) finished seventh in the 200-yard individual medley with a mark of 1:56.47 and
Nick Jelich (Milwaukee, Wis./Marquette University HS) swam to an eight place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking in at 22.17.
Alex Tenhagen (Burlington, Wis./Wilmot Union),
Zach Miller (Saukville, Wis./Port Washington),
Jordan Kreitzman (Milwaukee, Wis./Rufus King) and
Jamey Hines (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) came together to place third in the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:30.45.
