The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team continued action Saturday at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional Championship and the Gustavus Fall Invite at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn.
 
Senior Gabi Kitchell (Wausau, Wis./D.C. Everest) posted two impressive wins Saturday to advance to the quarterfinal round of the ITA singles draw. She dropped only two games in four sets in victories over St. Mary's and St. Thomas.
 
Senior Julie Martin (Morton, Ill./Morton) and sophomore Sabrina Palavra (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) each bowed out in the Round of 16 in singles against seeded opponents.
 
Kitchell and Martin advanced the furthest of any Warhawk doubles team in the ITA bracket, reaching the quarterfinals, where they were narrowly defeated, 9-7.
 
In the Gustavus Fall Invite, junior Madeline Slicker (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) and sophomore Katie Toomire (Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs) captured the title at No. 2 doubles, besting Gustavus Adolphus in their final match.
 
Freshman Molly Rueth (Wheaton, Ill./Glenbard West) took home the No. 1 singles championship in the invitational, earning a third-set super tiebreaker over Gustavus Adolphus.
 
Play continues at both tournaments Sunday in St. Peter.
