LA CROSSE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's track and field teams competed in a combined seven preliminary events and one final Thursday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships at UW-La Crosse.
The men's and women's 4x100-meter relay teams each qualified for Saturday's final races.
On the women's side, the foursome of senior
Chelsie Bence (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc), junior
Jordan Tokarski (Oconomowoc, Wis./Kettle Moraine), sophomore
Abbie Felton (Burlington, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) and junior
Celeste Madda (Crystal Lake, Ill./Central) broke a 20-year-old school record with a time of 47.18 seconds, good for seventh in qualifying.

Oren Henderson-Zintz (Madison, Wis./La Follette),
Jake Schneider (Plymouth, Wis./Plymouth), freshman
Dwayne Ford (Racine, Wis./Case) and senior
Parker Witt (Appleton, Wis./Appleton North) reached the final with a 41.21, good for ninth place in Thursday's trials.
Sophomore
Alex Duff (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) qualified for the 400-meter hurdles final with a mark of 53.14 seconds, good for seventh.
Senior Jason D'Amico wrapped up his Warhawk career with an 18th-place finish in the discus throw, posting a toss of 147-09 (45.04 meters). Senior
Parker Witt (Appleton, Wis./Appleton North) placed 15th in the 200-meter dash with a 22.22 against a strong wind, and the men's 4x400-meter relay group of sophomore
Alec Masters (Port Washington, Wis./Port Washington), freshman
Colton Tisdall (St. Charles, Ill./North), senior
Logan Zeien (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere) and Duff finished 14th in 3:17.27.
The UW-Whitewater women also competed in the 4x400-meter relay, placing 12th with a 3:51.82 from sophomores

Junior
Celeste Madda (Crystal Lake, Ill./Central) represented the Warhawks in the women's 200-meter dash, placing 11th with a 25.30 against the wind.
Neither team registered a team score on the first day of competition.
UW-Whitewater resumes action Friday. Senior
DuVaun Goodlow (Plainfield, Ill./Central) is set to lead off for the men at 11 a.m. in the high jump, while Felton is scheduled to compete in the 400-meter dash prelims at 4:15 p.m. for the first women's event of the day.
Other scheduled competitors include Duff and sophomore
Christian Jackson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) in the men's 110-meter hurdles prelims (3:10 p.m.), Witt in the men's 100-meter dash prelims (4:30 p.m.) and Madda in the women's 100-meter dash prelims (4:45 p.m.).
