Members of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's track and field team competed Thursday and Friday at North Central's Dr. Keeler Invitational in Naperville, Ill., and Sunday at the Eagle Open in La Crosse.
On Thursday, sophomore
Zach Jasinski (Sussex, Wis./Hamilton) broke a 39-year-old school record with his height of 16-09.25 (5.11 meters) in the pole vault, good for a tie for fourth in NCAA Division III and the best result of his outdoor career.
On Friday, sophomore
Alex Duff (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) moved up one spot to sixth in the nation with his season-best time of 14.39 in the 110-meter hurdles, good for first place. The team's 4x100-meter relay team of sophomores
Oren Henderson-Zintz (Madison, Wis./La Follette),
Jake Schneider (Plymouth, Wis./Plymouth), freshman
Dwayne Ford (Racine, Wis./Case) and senior
Parker Witt (Appleton, Wis./Appleton North) placed second with a mark of 41.74.
Senior
Brett Harms (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) entered the top 20 in the nation in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with his time of 9:18.31, good for 15th in the event.
Both UW-Whitewater teams continue last chance competition Sunday at UW-La Crosse's Eagle Open at 2 p.m.
