The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's tennis team won a pair of home duals Saturday, extending its home winning streak to nine.

The Warhawks (10-4) took down Wabash (Ind.) 6-3 in the first dual, before putting together an 8-1 performance against Illinois Tech in the nightcap.

Against Wabash (7-7), junior Brandon Dechter (Mundelein, Ill./Carmel Catholic) and senior Matt Zurowski (West Bend, Wis./East) took the No. 2 slot 8-1, while sophomores Lucas Monterroso (Montevideo, Uruguay/Colegio Jesus Maria)  and Zach Wood (Downers Grove, Ill./South)  won at the third position in a similar 8-1 fashion.

Monterroso and Wood started off singles with victories in the fifth and sixth slots, respectively, before Dechter claimed the clinching point for the dual in a 7-5, 6-3 battle in the third singles match.  Zurowski rounded out the scoring with a victory at No. 4 singles.

The Warhawks continued their winning ways against Illinois Tech (8-7).  With senior Zane Navratil (Racine, Wis./The Prairie School) and junior Jimmy Engelhart (Brookfield, Wis./East) leading the way at the first position, the team swept all three doubles matches. Dechter and Zurowski combined for an 8-0 triumph at No. 2, and Monterroso teamed with freshman Robert Rider (Annapolis, Md./South River) for an 8-2 win at No. 3.

In singles, sophomore Matthew Primozic (Elkhart Lake, Wis./Plymouth) claimed the No. 5 singles match before Wood clinched the dual for the Warhawks in the No. 4 slot.  Zurowski claimed the final three games in his second set to claim another point for the Warhawks by a 6-2, 6-4 score at No. 3, and Dechter finished out the scoring for the match with a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 2.
