The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's tennis team claimed both the singles & doubles championship at the Midwest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regionals. Theo Billson (Lindfield, England/BHASVIC) claimed the singles crown, then joined Luke Blumentritt (Granger, Ind./Indiana Connections Academy) in the Doubles championship to earn All-American honors.

To start the day, Theo Billson (Lindfield, England/BHASVIC) faced off against Dominik Knutson, the top-seed from the host Gustavus Adolphus. Last year at the ITA Regional, the two faced off in the semifinal match, with Knutson coming out on top 6-1, 6-3 over Billson.

This year, Billson jumped out & set the tone early with an unblemished 6-0 first set. Billson claimed the match with a 6-4 second set to earn his second career All-American recognition. 

Just a few hours later, Billson & Luke Blumentritt (Granger, Ind./Indiana Connections Academy) had the chance to claim the doubles crown as well, facing the top-seeded Dominik Knutson & Takura Mhwandagara from Gustavus Adolphus. The pair were trailing 2-3 in the first set before winning the next four games to take the first set 6-3. The pair then took the next set 6-3 to claim.

The last time the Warhawks claimed both the singles & doubles crown of the ITA Regional was in 2021 with John Zakowski (singles), then Zakowski & Alex Gray (Doubles). 

With the win, both Billson & Blumentritt earn All-American Honors from the ITA as well as earn a spot to compete in the ITA National Cup in Rome, Georgia beginning on October 15th.
