The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's track and field teams placed second and fifth, respectively, at the Midwest Elite Invitational on Saturday at Kachel Fieldhouse.
 
The Warhawk men tallied 97.50 points to finish second out of eight teams, while the women collected 66 points to place fifth out of eight teams.
 
Senior Matt Green (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) led the men by vaulting to fourth in the nation in the triple jump with a career-best mark of 48-06.00 (14.78 meters), good for first place overall. Other winners included sophomore Alex Duff (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) in the 60-meter hurdles, which he finished in 8.17 seconds, and freshman Brian Kuehl (Geneva, Ill./Geneva), who claimed the 800-meter run with a result of 1:54.98.
 
On the women's side, the 4x400-meter relay team of sophomore Ashley Tijerina (West Chicago, Ill./West Chicago), sophomore Megan Hering (Black Earth, Wis./Wisconsin Heights), senior Enyo Amet (Racine, Wis./Prairie) and sophomore Abbie Felton (Burlington, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) jumped to sixth in the nation in the event with a 3:58.34, good for first place overall.
 
Felton crossed the finish line first in the 400-meter dash in 56.86 seconds, good for fourth in NCAA Division III after adjustment for track size. Senior Lindsay Chase (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) won the weight throw with a 54-02.75 (16.53 meters), besting 28 other competitors.
 
The Warhawks head to the Titan Invitational next Saturday at UW-Oshkosh. Events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
