The No. 21 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team enjoyed a second straight impressive day at the Warhawk Classic, posting a 4-1 record in traditional games Saturday at AMF West Lanes in Milwaukee.
With victories over No. 6 Stephen F. Austin, Valparaiso, No. 1 Vanderbilt and Elmhurst, the Warhawks improved their record to 9-1 for the weekend and increased their total pinfall to 10,168 pins, good for an average of 203.4 per game.
Sophomore
Peyton Attig (Oak Lawn, Ill./Harold L. Richards) led UW-Whitewater and finished seventh out of 129 players with a 219.40 average in five traditional games, two games above 240. Senior
Emma Kuhn (Texas City, Texas/Texas City) also finished among the top 10, rolling an average of 217.40, including a team-best 268 game, to place 10th.
Freshman
Jaelynn Hoehnen (Waukesha, Wis./West) collected a 201.40 average, good for 27th overall, and junior
Kailee Tubbs (Flint, Mich./Davison) posted a 193.20 average to place 40th. Senior
Lauren Price (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) rounded out the Warhawk lineup with a 189.60, good for 47th.
UW-Whitewater begins best-of-seven Baker bracket play Sunday at 8:30 a.m. The Warhawks earned the No. 5 seed and will face sixth-seeded Vanderbilt to start the day.
