Saturday's Preview
Agriculture based industries in southeast Wisconsin are invited to take a break and join the rest of the Warhawk faithful to see the No. 8 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team (4-0) take on 10th-ranked UW-Oshkosh in a conference game this Saturday.
Â
"Coach
Kevin Bullis has our Warhawks Football team ready for a big push heading into our conference schedule and we are excited to work with local and regional agriculture industries to offer a family friendly atmosphere to enjoy the outdoors and see some great football," Director of Athletics
Todd Garzarelli said.
Â
Speaking to Josh Goldberg on WCLO in Janesville, Bullis talked on his history of agriculture growing up.
"It's kind of neat," Bullis said. "I grew up around farming and so, Ag Day, that to me I take that very personally. I come from a family of farmers and I spent a lot of time out in the field as a young man."
Â
"We have spent all summer communicating with FAA (Future Farmers of America), Rock County and Johnstown 4-H, Rock County Fair, Wisconsin Farmers Union, Dairy Business Association and Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative, Wisconsin Dairy Supply, and Larson Acres Dairy Farm. Warhawk Athletics is excited to offer this special invitation to all workers and family members of those businesses," said
Clay Shaw, Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing and Corporate Sales.
Â
This Saturday is also Family Fest at Perkins Stadium, and a large crowd is expected. Kickoff is at 2 p.m. with parking lots open for tailgating. Purchase ticket online at
