Noah Moris (Union Grove, Wis./Union Grove), defensive linemen for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team, was named to the Academic All-American Second Team by the College Sports Communicators in a release on Tuesday, January 27th.
Moris, a junior accounting major, boasts a 3.91 grade point average in the classroom. On the field, Moris bolstered the formidable defensive line for the Warhawks, earning his first All-Region recognition by D3football.com. Moris is the seventh Academic All-American honoree for Warhawk football since 2014.Â
In addition to his Academic All-America honor, Moris also earned an Academic All-District honor. Seven other Warhawk football student-athletes were named to the All-District list:
Dom Beres (Bartlett, Ill./St. Francis),
Ethan Gallagher (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township),
Justin Klinkner (Two Rivers, Wis./Two Rivers),
Efrein Ramirez (Minooka, Ill./Minooka), and
Tyler Vasey (Crystal Lake, Ill/Prairie Ridge).
In order to qualify for the Academic All-District award, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, be of at least sophomore status academically and athletically and athletes must have started in at least 66% or played in at least 90% of the team's games this season.Â
