The No. 18 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team posted a victory over Morgan State Saturday on the second day of the Kutztown Invitational at Heister Lanes in Reading, Pa.
The Warhawks knocked down 4,629 pins in five traditional games to increase their weekend total to 9,268 pins, good for a 185.4 per game average.
UW-Whitewater bested Morgan State and was defeated by St. Francis Brooklyn, No. 8 Maryland Eastern Shore, Chestnut Hill and No. 16 St. Francis (Pa.).
Sophomore
Kailee Tubbs (Flint, Mich./Davison) led the Warhawks in traditional games with a 205 average, including two games above 220, and ranks 30th overall out of 173 bowlers. Freshman
Karlee Barton (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West) finished 63rd with a 190 average, and junior
Emma Kuhn (Texas City, Texas/Texas City) ranked 71st with a 187.60.
Senior
Sarah Paasch (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan North) finished 105th with a 185.50 average in four games, and junior
Lauren Price (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) competed in three games and averaged a 167.33, good for 135th.
UW-Whitewater will face Franklin Pierce to start bracket play Sunday at 7:25 a.m. Central Time.
