The Warhawk men's and women's track and field teams traveled to last chance meets at UW-Platteville, Carthage, and UW-Stevens Point on Friday and Saturday. Several Warhawks took full advantage of the opportunity to improve upon Division III National qualifying times/marks ahead of next weekend's NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.

On Friday at UW-Platteville, freshman Zach Jasinski (Sussex, Wis./Hamilton) jumped to a new school record and big career best mark of 16-01.25 (4.91 meters) in the pole vault. Jasinski broke a 37-year-old indoor pole vault school record of 16-00, set by Tom Plummer in 1980, which prior to Friday was the oldest indoor school record still standing. Jasinski's mark also vaults him up to #8 in the nation in Division III.

Also on Friday at Platteville, senior Amanda Strupp (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) threw a huge new career best mark of 59-0.25 (17.99 meters) in the weight throw. As of Saturday evening, that mark improved her to #8 in Division III in the event. Freshman Sydney Rossow (West Bend, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) set a new career best and tied the school record 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.99. Rossow ties Megan Linse (Jefferson, Wis./Jefferson) for the 60 meter school record, a mark set in 2014.

On Saturday at UW-Stevens Point, freshman Jake Schneider (Plymouth, Wis./Plymouth) won the 200 meter dash in a new career best time of 22.16, a time that as of Saturday evening moves him to #15 in Division III.

In other notable results for the men on Friday, freshman Josh Iraci (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) matched his career best in the 60 meters, winning the event in 6.90. On Saturday, junior Brett Harms (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) set a new career best in the mile, finishing sixth in a time of 4:20.41.

On the women's side, on Friday, junior Lindsay Chase (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) set a new personal best in the weight throw with a mark of 54-5.5 (16.60 meters). On Saturday, Meredith Porter (Hales Corners, Wis./Whitnall) ran a new career best 25.66 in the 200 meters, finishing fourth.

Next Friday and Saturday, numerous Warhawk men's and women's track and field athletes will compete at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, held at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.
