The No. 24 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's tennis team competed with one of the strongest programs in the nation Monday morning, falling 9-0 against 12th-ranked Tufts (Mass.) in a dual match at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in Claremont, Calif.
The Warhawks (8-6 overall) were unable to secure a point in doubles, falling in all three matches against the Jumbos (2-0). Sophomore

Zach Wood (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove) tallied the smallest margin of defeat in an 8-4 setback at the No. 2 position.
Wood took the first set in his match at No. 6 singles against Tufts' Ethan Chen, but was eventually outlasted in a third-set super-tiebreaker 1-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-8).
UW-Whitewater continues its ultra-competitive spring break slate Wednesday at Irvine Valley College. Match time is set for 12 p.m. Central Time in Irvine, Calif.
