The Warhawk women's track and field team scored a total of 84.50 points to finish fourth at the WIAC Indoor Championship meet, which concluded Saturday at UW-Stout. Claiming the 2017 WIAC Indoor team championship was UW-La Crosse, who scored a total of 144.50 points. The Warhawk women's team finish is an improvement of three spots and over 30 points over last year's seventh place, 50.5-point finish.

Leah Richter (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac), and senior
Meredith Porter (Hales Corners, Wis./Whitnall) led the way with a pair of WIAC indoor titles for the Warhawks on Saturday. Madda won her first WIAC indoor individual title in the 200 meter dash in a season's best time of 25.23. A little more than an hour prior to winning the 200, Madda placed fourth in the 60 meter dash in 7.82. Madda's time in the 200 currently ranks her fifth in Division III. The 4x400 relay team of Felton, Amet, Richter, and Porter won the relay title with a time of 3:53.57.
Other top finishes for the Warhawks on Saturday included senior
Amanda Strupp (Slinger, Wis./Slinger), who finished second in the weight throw with a toss of 57-00 (17.37 meters), and freshman
Sydney Rossow (West Bend, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran), who placed third in the 60 meter hurdles in a new career-best time of 9.00.
Sophomore distance runner
Liz Mielke (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) was named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship team.
The Warhawk women's track and field team will make one last push to improve upon national qualifying marks when they travel to two last chance meets next weekend, on Friday at UW-Platteville, and on Saturday at UW-Stevens Point.
