The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's track and field teams competed Saturday at the NAIA Challenge at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill.
No team scores were compiled.
On the men's side, senior
DuVaun Goodlow (Plainfield, Ill./Central) improved his season-best mark in the high jump and won the event with a 6-09.00 (2.06 meters), which is currently tied for the fifth-best height in NCAA Division III.
Sophomore
Dylan Ferger (Beloit, Wis./Beloit Turner) also jumped his way into the top 20 in the nation in the high jump with a 6-07.00 (2.01 meters), good for second place.
Junior captain
Theron Baumann (Monona Grove, Wis./Monona Grove) posted the No. 1 result in the nation with a 57-00.25 (17.38 meters) in the shot put, good for third in the event.
Other top finishers included senior
Levi Perry (East Moline, Ill./United Township), who was the runner-up in the weight throw with a 59-10.25 (18.24 meters), and junior captain
Parker Witt (Appleton, Wis./Appleton North), who was second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.91 seconds. Sophomore
Connor Arneson (Oshkosh, Wis./West) was third in the 400-meter dash in 52.07, and freshman
Adam Schommer (Freedom, Wis./Freedom) tied for third in the pole vault with a 14-01.25 (4.30 meters).
Sophomore
Celeste Madda (Crystal Lake, Ill./Central) led the women with a first-place finish in the 60-meter dash. She improved her personal best time to 7.79 seconds, good for second in the nation.
Senior
Meredith Porter (Hales Corners, Wis./Whitnall) finished as runner-up in the 400-meter dash with a career-best time of 58.33 seconds, good for fourth in the nation. Freshman
Abbie Felton (Burlington, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) was third in the same event with a 1:00.08.
Freshman
Sydney Rossow (West Bend, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) placed second in the 60-meter hurdles with a result of 9.22 seconds and combined with Porter, junior
Carly Manning (Wauwatosa, Wis./East) and freshman
Maddie Matty (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) in the 4x400-meter relay for a time of 4:10.14, good for second place.
Juniors
Enyo Amet (Racine, Wis./Prairie),
Erika Sternard (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) and freshman
Liz Liska (New Berlin, Wis./West) all tied for first in the high jump with a 5-01.75 (1.75 meters).
Senior
Amanda Strupp (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) was also a top finisher, placing third in the weight throw and improving her season-best mark with a 53-07.00 (16.33 meters), which currently ranks among the top 20 in the nation.
The Warhawks return home next weekend to host a pair of meets. The men will host the "Squig" Converse Invitational and Multi-Event Friday starting at 5 p.m., and the women will host the Warhawk Classic Invitational and Multi-Event Saturday starting at 12 p.m.
