The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's swimming and diving teams each defeated both Lawrence and Lake Forest in a triangular meet in Lake Forest, Ill.
The Warhawk men posted a 191-20 victory over Lawrence and a 139-99 triumph over Lake Forest. The women downed Lawrence 172-57 and Lake Forest by a 121-92 score.
Sophomore
Erin Hawker (Chanhassen, Minn./Hutchinson) led the UW-Whitewater women with first-place finishes in both the 100-meter butterfly (1:08.98) and the 200-meter freestyle (2:15.17).
Junior
Michaela Matthys (Crystal Lake, Ill./McHenry West) and freshman
Renata Schlomann (New Berlin, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels) each won an individual event and were part of each of the team's winning relays.
Matthys won the 50-meter freestyle in 28.44 seconds, while Schlomann claimed the 100-meter freestyle with a mark of 1:02.00. The duo joined senior
Grace Devine (Sussex/Hamilton) and sophomore
Alyssa Haertl (Oshkosh, Wis./West) in the 200-meter freestyle relay for a winning time of 1:53.63. Matthys and Schlomann also helped the 200-meter medley relay, which also included sophomores
Melanie Carlson (Waukesha, Wis./West) and
Vada Williams (La Crescent, Minn./Holmen-Aquinas-Onalaska (Wis.)), to a first-place finish and a result of 2:07.88.
Senior
Sarah Arteaga (Greenfield/Whitnall) was also an event winner, placing first in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:18.54.
On the men's side, senior
Sam Bowman (Onalaska/Onalaska) led the way with wins in the 400-meter freestyle in 4:20.45 and the 800-meter freestyle in 9:01.90.

Dan Bielski (Chanhassen, Minn./Minnetonka) sophomores
Peter Loftus (Janesville, Wis./Craig) and
Thomas Stigler (Milwaukee, Wis./Muskego) won two events apiece, including the 200-meter medley relay, which also included senior
Alex Gidlow (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) and registered a time of 1:50.51. Bielski won the 100-meter backstroke in 1:00.08, Loftus claimed the 100-meter butterfly with a 1:02.90 and Stigler finished first in the 100-meter breaststroke with a 1:08.76.
Junior
Steven Missak (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North) was also an event winner, finishing the 100-meter freestyle in 25.57 seconds, good for first place.
The Warhawks visit UW-Eau Claire next Saturday, Jan. 28, at 1 p.m. for a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference dual meet.
