Day One Results
Senior
Amy Kahl (Huntley, Ill./Huntley) won her first ever Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title Friday, finishing first in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in a personal best time of 11:17.51 to lead the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's track and field team on day one of the WIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The Warhawks, who are hosting the event at Rex Foster Track, are currently in fifth place with 30 team points. UW-La Crosse is in first with 50 points.

The Warhawks claimed eight points in the long jump with a fourth place finish by
Aisha Coleman (Janesville, Wis./Craig) and a sixth place finish by
LaBreya Johnson (Beloit, Wis./Memorial). Coleman's distance of 17' 8" (5.38m) is a season best.

Two Warhawks finished among the top eight in the javelin to add five more points to UW-W's team score.
Brittany Sykes (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) recorded a distance of 113' 10" (34.70m) for fifth place, and teammate
Liberty Wieseman (Lake Geneva, Wis./Badger) claimed eighth with a toss of 105' 1" (33.04m).

Amanda Strupp (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) took fifth place in the hammer throw recording a distance of 170' 2" (51.88m), a season best and twelfth longest in NCAA DIII this season, while
Courtney Pohlman (Janesville, Wis./Craig) finished sixth in the pole vault with a season best height of 11' 8.5" (3.57m).

In preliminary action
Candice Wayne (West Bend, Wis./West) set a facility and school record in the 400 meter hurdles, turning in a time of 1:02.06. Teammate
Meredith Heller (Hales Corners, Wis./Whitnall) was right at her heels with a time of 1:02.07. Their times are the fifth and sixth fastest in NCAA DIII this season.

Megan Linse (Jefferson, Wis./Jefferson) and
Haley Precia (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) qualified for the finals in the 100 meter hurdles, while
Leah Richter (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac) will compete for the 400 meter dash title.

Celeste Madda (Crystal Lake, Ill./Central) qualified for the finals in the 100 and 200 meter dash and will be joined by teammate
Brianna Frey (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) in the 100 and
LaBreya Johnson (Beloit, Wis./Memorial) in the 200.

The Warhawks tallied eight season best marks on day one of the meet.
