Four University of Wisconsin-Whitewater track and field relays participated Friday in the Drake Relays at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.
On the women's side, the 4x100-meter relay team of sophomore
Chelsie Bence (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc), junior
Aisha Coleman (Janesville, Wis./Craig), freshmen
Brianna Frey (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) and
Celeste Madda (Crystal Lake, Ill./Central) posted a time of 49.44 seconds, good for 27th overall.
Senior
Candice Wayne (West Bend, Wis./West), junior
Meredith Heller (Hales Corners, Wis./Whitnall), sophomore
Morgan McCuen (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) and junior
Leah Richter (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac) combined to place 20th in the 4x400-meter relay with a mark of 3:52.81, the Warhawks' top time this season.
For the men, juniors Connor Larson, Grant Loess, Zak Loess and sophomore Parker Witt teamed up in the 4x100-meter relay. The quartet crossed the finish line in 42.42 seconds, good for 15th place.
The 4x400-meter team of freshman Connor Arneson, senior Bryce Rudebeck, junior Connor Larson and freshman Trent Rudebeck finished 24th with a result of 3:18.84, good for the team's best this year.
UW-Whitewater continues action Saturday at the Drake Relays, and hosts the UW-Whitewater Drake Alternative Meet Sunday starting at 10 a.m. at Rex Foster Track.
