The Warhawks, ranked sixth in the Central Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, improved to 15-0 and handed Carleton, the region's No. 12 team, its first loss of the season to drop to 7-1 overall.
Junior
Megan Humphreys (Kenosha/Tremper) and sophomore
Bridgid McGuire (Slinger/Slinger) earned an 8-1 triumph at No. 1 doubles, and sophomore
Alexandra Talyansky (Mequon/Homestead) and freshman
Gabi Kitchell (Wausau, Wis./D.C. Everest) combined for an 8-2 victory at No. 2.
Sophomore
Jillian Wallace (Crystal Lake, IL/Central) was first on the board in singles, posting a 6-0, 6-1 win at the fifth position. Kitchell made it 4-1 UW-Whitewater with a 6-1, 6-3 triumph at No. 2, and Talyansky clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at the fourth slot.
McGuire registered a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3, and Humphreys closed Warhawk scoring with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at the top position.
UW-Whitewater returns to action in Hilton Head Tuesday for a showdown with 15th-ranked DePauw (Ind.) at 8 a.m. Central Time.
