Related Links:Final Results (PDF) Smryna, Tenn. – The No. 10 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's bowling team placed eighth out of 30 teams at the Music City Classic hosted by Vanderbilt University.
The Warhawks tallied a 0-3 record in the championship bracket rounds. UW-Whitewater finished with an overall record of 9-6 on the weekend and a three day pin total of 14,298 (188.1 per game average).
No. 2 Arkansas State University defeated No. 7 McKendree University to claim the championship.
Opening the day against No. 5 Stephen F. Austin State University, the Warhawks were downed by a score of 2-4. UW-Whitewater took on No. 6 University of Central Missouri in their next match and lost by a score of 1-4. In their final match of the weekend the Warhawks were defeated by No. 9 Fairleigh Dickinson University by a score of 1-4.
The Warhawks had two bowlers finish in the Top-25 individually. Junior
Amanda VanDuyn (Kenosha, Wis./Kenosha Bradford) led the way with a 193.83 game average good for 24th overall. Junior
Sage Greenwood (Kenosha, Wis./Kenosha Bradford) finished one spot behind VanDuyn with a 193.50 game average.
UW-Whitewater will wait to see if they are selected to compete at the NCAA Championships which takes place on April 14-16th in New Brunswick, N.J. The selection show is set to take place on March 30th at 3:00 p.m. central standard time on Ncaa.com.
