Women's Bowling Jumps to Sixth at Music City Classic

Smryna, Tenn. – The No. 10 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's bowling moved up six spots to sixth place overall out of 30 teams through day two of competition at the Music City Classic hosted by Vanderbilt University.
 
The Warhawks improved on day two tallying a 5-1 record in six traditional team matches. UW-Whitewater's cumulative score of 11,321 (188.7 per game average) is actually tied with No. 5 Stephen F. Austin State University for total pins.
 
No. 2 Arkansas State University leads the tournament with a total of 11, 729.
 
UW-Whitewater started day two with four straight victories, three of them against ranked opponents. In the first match of the day against Alabama State, the Warhawks prevailed with a 1,019-892 victory. The Warhawks then went on to defeat No. 22 Valparaiso University by a score of 853-870. The third match of the day was against the tournament leader Arkansas State, and UW-Whitewater came out on top winning by a score of 1,006-915.
 
After coming back from a lunch break UW-Whitewater defeated No. 25 Jackson State University by a score of 979-796. The Warhawks lone loss of the day came against No. 11 University of Maryland-Eastern Shore by a score of 898-980.
 
UW-Whitewater rebounded to take down No. 6 McKendree University by a score of 974-903 to close the second day of competition.
