Related Links:Final Results (PDF) Kenosha, Wis. – The No. 7 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's bowling team placed fifth out of ten teams at the Warhawk Classic hosted at the Sheridan Lanes.
The Warhawks tallied 2-1 record on the day in the championship bracket rounds. UW-Whitewater finished with an overall record of 8-5 on the weekend and a three day pin total of 13,349. No. 6 McKendree University (Ill.) finished in fourth place with a pin total of 13,627.
No. 2 University of Nebraska-Lincoln defeated No. 5 University of Central Missouri in the championship match.
Opening the day with a loss to No. 20 Adelphi University by a score of 3-4, the Warhawks bounced back with a victory over No. 25 Elmhurst by a score of 4-2. In their final match of the weekend, UW-Whitewater got some revenge and defeated Adelphi University by a final score of 4.5-0.5 to place fifth overall.
The Warhawks had three bowlers finish in the Top-15 individually. Junior
Amanda VanDuyn (Kenosha, Wis./Kenosha Bradford) led the way with a 210.20 game average good for ninth place. Junior
Taylor Hoppe (Rockford, Ill./Thomas Jefferson) finished two spots behind VanDuyn with a 209.20 game average. Senior
Lindsay Rusch (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) finished 14th on the leader board with a 205.80 game average.
UW-Whitewater will be back in action March 11-13th where they will compete in the USBC Sectionals.
