Related Links:Final Standings/Results (PDF) Houston, Tex. – The No. 7 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's bowling team placed 11th out of 17 teams at the Stormin LadyJack Classic hosted by Stephen F. Austin University.
The Warhawks tallied a 1-2 record on the day in the championship bracket rounds. UW-Whitewater's three day pin total was 14,557. No. 2 University of Nebraska-Lincoln defeated No. 1 Arkansas State University to take third in the tournament.
No. 10 North Carolina A&T defeated No. 9 Fairleigh Dickinson University in the championship to win the tournament.
Opening the day with two straight losses in the bracket rounds, the Warhawks bounced back in their third match of the day. In the opening match No. 8 Stephen F. Austin defeated UW-Whitewater 2-4, and in the next match against Monmouth the Warhawks were dropped by a score of 1-4. In the final match of the tournament the Warhawks defeated Louisiana Tech University 4-2.
The top finisher for the Warhawks was junior
Amanda VanDuyn (Kenosha, Wis./Kenosha Bradford) who finished tenth overall individually with a 208.33 game average.
UW-Whitewater will be back in action next weekend Feb. 19-21st when they host the Warhawk Invitational in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
